2 months agoIt is with deep regret that we advise that despite a number of meetings, extensive discussions and alternative proposals, we have been unable to reach agreement Whirlwind TV / Film Productions (currently based at Abingdon) regarding shared use of the venue for the Long Course Sprint, which was due to be held on 11th April 2021. At this moment there are no plans for a re-arranged date.We thank you for your overwhelming support for the event and look forward to seeing you at Abingdon, hopefully in late September / early October, for The Abingdon Motorsport CAR-nival. ...
2 months agoAnother excellent 'virtual club night' last evening, with a fascinating insight to the life and times of member Keith Mainland: Diplomat in the Middle East, Le Mans Team Timekeeper, Brands Hatch Signing On Team, Co-Driver, Veteran Car Run Owner / Participant, journalist, part time F1 driver, failed Carrera Pam-Americana driver and hopeful Ferrari owner driver heading for Sicily...A quality picture quiz then preceded an interesting and comical chat with BTRDA Champions Will Nicholls and a communications challenged Nick Broom. Despite Nick sounding like a Dalek, the stories and challenges of competing in rallying at the top level in the UK were very entertaining, as were so many of the memories A great light hearted 2 hours enjoyed by a number of members we rarely see nowadays... Great Stuff! ...
